How do I trust again?

This daily devotion stole my heart this morning. With all that is going on (again), I found great comfort in her words, in her determination to draw her strength from the Lord, and to trust again...

. .. Lord, I don’t want to do this again...
... With tears, I whispered the beautiful words over and over until they soaked into my heart: Blessed is the {woman} who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord...
... Maybe you are in a hard place today. Perhaps it’s a place you've encountered before, and it’s the last place you wanted to be...

...Blessed is the (woman) who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord...

Go in Peace and Walk in the Freedom of Who Christ Created You to Be

I awoke with a heavy heart this morning, a heaviness that has only grown stronger over the past couple weeks, and tears on the verge of piercing my already inflamed & tired eyes. Searching through God's word this morning I am desperate for a SOAPing in God’s word to wash this from me...

My Core, My Foundation

Matthew 7:24-27 Message

These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.

“But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.

The words God gives to us in the bible through Jesus ARE the core of who we are to build ourselves up in. Applying and working His words into my life give me the gateway to his peace and strength through his loving, guiding words.

Spending time in God's word is helping to continue to build the foundation of who I am in Christ and who I am to others because of His light within me. Soaping is creating a deeper avenue in this area of my walk with God.

Holy Spirit, fill me a fresh with the words of the living God. Let my foundation continue to be solid and grounded in You, Lord. Let my life show Your strength, Your grace, Your love, and Your goodness in every area, in Jesus Name.

Love your enemies, even those who persecute you...

Matthew 5:44-47
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.

For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else?

Love your enemies, even those who persecute you...

Jesus is speaking to me to especially love those who do not love me; they either do not love me by their choice or by circumstance.

Anger (Old life vs New life)

Matthew 5:21-22
“You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

Anger (Old life vs New life)

When we were in the old life (the Law of Moses), we lived by 'following the law'- do not murder.  In the new life we live by the law of our heart, by forgiveness, love, and compassion. Do not even be angry with someone that you would judge them unfairly, do not curse them that

Be Humble

Matthew 5:3
God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.

Be Humble
Being humble to know that God is our first and only true source is what opens the gates of heaven for His blessings to overtake us with His provision for us.

It's not about pride, being arrogant, or having our own agenda of accomplishments to feed our inner selves to the point of self-satisfaction. Some people see pride as only being especially proud of a quality or skill, but it also is a

Forgiveness vs. Un-forgiveness (updated & grammatically corrected 05/08/14)

In my daily reading this morning, Matthew 18:21-35 NIV - YouVersion Online BibleI had to step back and examine myself regarding it because I felt that twinge in my heart - you know the one that we often stuff aside and keep reading or close the book and think at least we finished our reading for today?

So I asked Him (yes it's simple, just ask) - Lord is there anyone who I haven't yet forgiven OR that I've taken my unforgiveness back from you once I gave it?

In the silence my heart felt it, the 'twinge' as the 3 names instantly came to mind followed by 3 different scenarios.

God Makes Me Giggle...

I've been meditating on this scripture all morning without even realizing it -

I've been praying and reminding myself that the discouragement & sadness I'm feeling right now only comes from my flesh (my selfish desires) and in reality it is of no eternal value (nothing will change from it);

I need to choose to put my hope in HIM and praise Him (thank Him) for His wisdom, revelation, and knowledge in this area & those involved.

All morning I've chosen to renounce the lies that want to play like a broken record in my head holding onto hurt feelings and I've chosen to thank God instead while praying for the situation and those involved

(not praying for hurt over them, but that God would bless them and touch their hearts right where they are in what they need),

and then BAM, here it is in my daily verse - loud and clear in black and white:

"Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again - my Savior and my God!" -Psalm 43:5

I LOVE THIS!!! John 15:4

I LOVE THIS!!!  John 15:4 - what an amazing verse - but what excited me most where the rest of the verse to follow it and the way it was stated in the Message version of the bible...

I honestly fell into a state of awe

Bless Those Who Curse You

I heard some interesting information today that really stung my heart - and not in a good way if you know what I mean. But I know who to go to for healing.

The choices I make are

CALL ON ME, IT'S WHAT GOD MADE ME FOR!!!

I just wrote this to a young gal I just prayed for over Facebook:

'If you ever need prayer, loves, or any encouragement - CALL ON ME, IT'S WHAT GOD MADE ME FOR!!!'

And after I hit 'send', I actually got tears in my eyes because I realized, this really is what God made me for. I love it - it gives me passion for life, passion for God, and passion to love.

2014 A New Year of Refreshing and Rejuvenation

For 2014 God gave me these words; 2014 is to be a year of
refreshing and rejuvenation as we walk in the realness of what His love truly means. By doing this, we will be brought into a newness with Him and into the pure truth of HIS love; a love that covers ALL of His children.

That was pretty powerful for me - 'a year of refreshing and rejuvenation' sounds amazing, but He wasn't done there. He said
