Matthew 7:24-27 Message
These words I speak to you
are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your
standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If
you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built
his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but
nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.
“But if you just use my words in
Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid
carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and
the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.
The words God gives to us in the bible through Jesus ARE the core of who we are to build ourselves up in. Applying and working His words into my life give me the gateway to his peace and strength through his loving, guiding words.
Spending time in God's word is helping to continue to build the foundation of who I am in Christ and who I am to others because of His light within me. Soaping is creating a deeper avenue in this area of my walk with God.
Holy Spirit, fill me a fresh with the words of the living God. Let my foundation continue to be solid and grounded in You, Lord. Let my life show Your strength, Your grace, Your love, and Your goodness in every area, in Jesus Name.
